MARK LOWE
Piano, Organ, Synth, & all keys
Mark has been playing music since age ten and grew up
in Uniontown, Pennsylvania with a family where music
was a part of every day. There was a music room with a
huge stereo, tons of records, a piano, drums, guitars, tape
decks and an encouraging atmosphere for friends to drop
by and listen, play and create music. His very first band
came about in 1964 with good friends Larry Boyd on
guitar and Dean Riggar on drums, learning songs by The
Beatles and anything from the British invasion.
In 1966 the three teenagers took the train alone from
Connellsville to Philadelphia (were our parents CRAZY ?)
and saw The Beatles in concert at JFK staduium during
the Fab Fours final year of touring. Mark's influences have
always included The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The
Mama’s & The Papa’s, The Byrds and most of Motown.
In high school, Mark was the bass player for
The Ovations and later while at Penn State, the lead
singer and keyboard player for United and United 2. He
went on to Salem College to major in music before moving
to San Diego to jam around southern California. Returning
to Pennsylvania he taught private lessons for beginner
piano and guitar students and worked with a piano
company in Pittsburgh.
His current equipment list includes a Roland Digital Piano,
Previa keyboard, Alesis Synthesizer, Fender Stratacoustic
Electric Guitar, Yamaha Acoustic Guitar, a Ukulele, Crate
Amp and Alesis Keyboard Amp.
Mark has jammed and played with a number of local

About us
Pittsburgh based The Woo Hoo Band is the culmination of six
very talented musicians from different musical backgrounds,
coming together from different parts of the region with the
same goal - to play quality music with other professional
musicians in order to create a fun, dancing atmosphere for an
appreciative audience.
With over 170 years of combined experience playing music
from Canada to The Caribbean, San Diego to Chicago and up
and down the East Coast as members of bands that include
Kixx, Stereo Vibe, Brass Impact and Dofka, these guys bring a
world of talent and a ton of skill with them.
Blending 3 & 4 part vocal harmonies, 2 or 3 guitars, solid bass
playing, piano, organ & synth, plus powerful drumming, along
with the showmanship of the soulful lead singer - this band
has the ability and talent to cover most any song and please
most any audience.

PETE SALEM

Pete, aka "PT", grew up in New Jersey, then moved to
Sewickley, PA at age 14. He started playing music at age
11 with keyboards then moved on to drums a few years
later, saying he was encouraged to "stick with
percussion", by his music teachers.
Over the years he has played a range of music from
Swing, to Funk, and R&B to Hard Rock, and enjoys
listening to every kind of music from Mozart to Rush.
The Drummers who have Influenced him the most include:
Danny Seraphine (Chicago)
Gene Krupa (Big Band icon)
Alan White (Yes)
Liberty De Vitto (Billy Joel)
Nigel Olsen (Elton John) and
Carl Palmer (Emerson Lake & Palmer).
His kit includes DW drums with Sabian Paragon Cymbals.
Pete says he “always thought flashy pounding drumming
is just showing off, not musicianship. Pocket drummers
are rarely noticed…..until they screw up. I strive to be
un-noticed”.
